Terms of Use

Showup helps small groups of friends stay accountable to each other for going to the gym. You may use it only for that purpose and only as these terms allow. You must be at least 13 years old.

• Keep your PIN private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person, one account. Do not use someone else's account.
• We do not collect an email address, so we cannot recover a lost PIN. If you lose it, you will need a new account.

• Groups are private and by invitation. Only share an invite link with people you want in your group.
• A check-in is a live photo and your location at the time. Do not submit photos that are not your own check-in, and do not try to fake a location or a time.
• The group leader sets the group's weekly goal and rules, and decides whether a member's check-in counts. Showup applies those rules automatically; it does not verify that you were at a gym.
• You can see, and your group can see, what you post in the group. Post only what you are comfortable sharing with them.

There is no place in Showup for objectionable content or abusive behavior.

You agree not to post, send, or do any of the following, in photos, captions, comments, names, or otherwise:

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or hateful or discriminatory content.
• Nudity, sexual content, or content that exploits or endangers anyone, including minors.
• Violent, graphic, or dangerous content.
• Spam, scams, or impersonation of another person.
• Anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights, including their privacy.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give Showup permission to store it and show it to the members of your group, which is needed to run the service.

• You can report a check-in, a comment, or a member, and you can block a member so you do not see their comments, captions, or photos. Reports are private.
• We review reports promptly, and we aim to do so within 24 hours. We may remove content, and we may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
• Separately, members can flag a check-in and group leaders can reject a check-in or delete a comment in their group. That is how a group decides what counts; it is not a report to us.

Showup points are closed, nonredeemable activity scores with no cash value.

A group leader sets its Goal and Risk. Showup uses those rules to calculate Safe, Drop, Bonus, Score, point moves, and Group Gap. Points cannot be bought, sold, withdrawn, redeemed, transferred outside a Showup group, or exchanged for anything of value.

Showup does not give medical or fitness advice. Exercise at your own pace, and talk to a doctor before starting a new routine. Never train through pain or feel you must check in when it is not safe to.

You can stop using Showup and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put others at risk. Deleting your account is described in our Privacy Policy.

Showup is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a location, time, or result will always be exact. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Showup.

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top and tell you in the app if the change is significant. Continuing to use Showup after that means you accept the new terms.
